Ok, so I totally haven't picked up a needle OR a hook forever and 3 days. I really do miss it but find it so hard to work with yummy yarn when it's 80 out! So now that it's cold, I'm totally into it. And I have to finish that cardi that I meant to make for the wedding and then totally didn't. I WANT and NEED to finish it...I love it even in it's own right, and the yarn is to die for! MMM alpaca.

So that's on my first to-do list by the end of the year. I should take it with me and do on lunch breaks.

And I was inspired to write as I have a new ravelry friend! YAY! Do you read this and are on ravelry?! If so, add me!

I'm sorry!!

I need to write more....I'm so addicted to the knot, I barely write in this anymore. I suppose it would be nice. I totally almost wrote in it the other day about the election but then decided you all didn't care (well maybe one of you...and by one, I mean jessica....)

Anyway, I'm almost done with work and realized I needed to make an update! Maybe I'll get the urge to crochet and knit in the coming weeks....just maybe...I have so many friken WIP's...and I love when I get an FO! But such is life!

I'm thinking about having a quarter life crisis...stay tuned.

Ok, I'm sorry, really I am, I got so entraced with wedding stuff that I kind of went nowhere with crocheting or knitting. Though, I did in February try and teach some HS kids how to crochet to no avail. It helped that everyone wanted to do other arts projects and few wanted crochet. And that they gave me no help for a classroom of 30 kids, and when the one other adult did know how, she taught them wrong. great. So I'm sure my reviews SUCKED but hey, they're students, they'd rather decorate cakes.

I started the wedding sweater and didn't finish it at all. Maybe I should start back up but being lace-weight fabric it takes FOREVER. I do have a long weekend and I could finish it by June 5th I'm sure now that I don't have wedding projects to finish anymore (except this one!).

I'll have to post pictures of my progress on it so far! I'll be happy when it turns out just right! I am trashing my dress on June 5th so it's a reasonable goal for sure.

I do miss crocheting, it's fun. I need to get back into knitting as well. I do have *the coolest needles ever* (see knitpicks options...mmm...)

Ok, so I'm sorry that I've been MIA for the past month or so but I was so busy with trying to get all of the christmas sweaters done, that I didn't have time to blog...

There was also all the wedding related DIY parts that needed to be done and now I sit here with only the programs to really get done. I can't believe it! There's a ton of little stuff that I can't do closer to the wedding to get done like talking to vendors and such, but I'm trying to get all that done. I'm also impatiently waiting on the verdict for my menu. I hope and pray that it's not as expensive as I think it may...if so, that's no good at all and I'll have to do some major changes to it to get it there. The only thing that is stopping me from finishing the programs right now is the fact that we haven't set our ceremony, which will be done in 3 weeks. I have my hair trial this weekend and dress fitting, so that's checked off. Whew. I don't know what to do with myself or what projects to take on next...but I've done all the little things that matter...like the monogrammed aisle runner...the only project I have at home is the cardbox! Which I'll probably work on this evening...

Now i had originally said I was going to make a wedding sweater, and I'm planning on it, but I don't know. I forgot that a girl at work has commissioned me to make her a sweater (see my mom's sweater) which should only take a few weeks, so that will keep me busy. And then there is my mom's sweater which needs some help, but maybe I'll work on the wedding sweater...but not stress out about it all...

oh well, hopefully I'll post some lovely things more often now!

Ok, so there really is, because i messed up this pattern again!! And let me tell you that it was one of the stupidest mess-ups that I've ever done! I blame it on the pressure to get that stupid pattern right and once I got it all figured out I had unraveled my previous one and started it at work during lunch, aka hardcore crochet time seeing as I have all of these lovely projects to finish. I went to make my foundation chain and guess what?! I made the number of chains that the finished bust size was, so if I was making a size 40, I chained 40 and thought that it was small but didn't think too much of it...I realize it when I finished the back and went to go do the neck shaping, oh and this pattern doesn't move quickly either...so I almost cried, David came home to find me a disaster and sad because this stupid pattern had beaten me again.

Determined to not let Interweave Crochet beat me, I decided to start a new pattern in the yarn, the Mesh Peplin Cardi-Blouse. And finally some success!! I'm going to make the sleeves 3/4 length and not put the mesh on the bottom (if you know this design you know what I'm talking about...) and here's some progress from before the weekend:

And when we went back to my parents house for thanksgiving, I couldn't work on it as it was for my mom, though I could have easily lied to her. Instead, I worked on Abby's sweater and I'm almost finished with the back of it! So excited!! And last night I added about 7 or 8 rows, I'm only 5 rows from completing the decreases in the body and then I'll shape it myself from there.

Once I get mom's sweater finished, minus the finishing because I still need to find buttons that I like, I'll start on my knitting adventures. Meaning a cable knit scarf. Now, here's the problem, I haven't really knitted for that long, only about a year, but I've crocheted forever so it comes pretty naturally to me and I long to do cable knits. I even bought the cable needles from knitpicks...mmm harmony wood....so we'll see how that adventure goes!

Oh, I'll take pics tonite and post tomorrow...hopefully, as long as work isn't too busy. But when is work ever busy??

Ok, I should actually do something as I've been here for an hour and nothing yet!

I want to cry...

Ok, so i made really great progress on my mom's sweater for xmas which is only what...6 weeks away and I was doing so well and getting it all done...well once I realized how the pattern was going to be formed, I think it's just too big and not the right size. It really bums me as I've already done 20+ rows and that was a lot of work because I thought that it was folded a different way instead of the way that it was. AND there was no clear way that said how the pattern was going to be folded and it never made sense to me, so now I have to start that all over....

on a good note. I've printed and will cut all of the inserts today for the invites. I should have that all done. Yesterday I also made the girl's earrings and learned that my idea for the toasting flutes is not going to work at all. So instead i'm going to make something like this since I refuse to spend that much on a serving set as well.

Boo urns.

So now I'll be crocheting away fast like to get everything together. So now all the things that need to be done in 6 weeks:

Mom's sweater
Abby's sweater
David's mom's scarf (oh and i'm doing a cable knit for this one, wish me luck....)

Ok, you need to forgive me because I've been sick since last Friday, yes, that's a whole 6 days and from Thursday night until about last night I've been somewhat dead to the world and going off of sudafed and afrin so that i can finally breathe!! I'm starting to feel better but I do have to stand out in the freezing cold tomorrow to take stats for football...boo-urns for the cold midwest.

Ok, so let's start with stuff that's not fun, such as, wedding things that I didn't do last week. I didn't get all the inserts cut but I did make up that cutesy poem! I still need to print those out, maybe I'll work on that today and maybe I'll cut some more inserts today, but they just take so long and I have to think about program design...yuck. But I did create a cutesy knot profile and have joined onto a national board to keep me entertained....so maybe most of my ramblings could go on there, but not likely!

OH and WORST ONLINE ORDERING EXPERIENCE EVER. BEWARE CRAFTERS. I ordered from the Plaid website because i needed gold liquid leading as they didn't stock it in any store that I found, so I ordered it online and the shipping wasn't anymore than other companies had been (such as a yarn one that ships from ohio). Well, I ordered it the day before I ordered yarn from knitpicks. It shipped a day earlier and shipped from the Chicago area. So I thought it would only take a day or two. Well the day or 2 went by, and then a few more days, and then I got my knitpicks package! So I emailed them because I had already tried to call them but their customer service was down. they responded that it would take 7-10 BUSINESS days for me to recieve my package and get back to them if i didn't recieve it by 11/8 (yes, today!) Well, i still haven't recieved it, the "tracking" system doesn't show where it's at except it went all the way to wausau, wi!!!! And it was coming from a suburb to another suburb!! how obsurd!! So today, I wrote back a nasty email saying that I needed to hear back from them in 24 hours or I would dispute the charges with my credit card and how this has been the worst experience EVER and trust me, I've done a whole lot of online purchasing! So I'll update you on what they say when they reply.

Ok, I started my mom's sweater and have gotten to the armhole shaping. I can probably finish it in a few more weekends but I should probably start on Abby's soon and do the scarf for David's mom as well. I'll really have to buckle down the next few weekends, but it will work out! I'll hopefully post a pic but anyone who reads this (cough cough jessica) can just look on ravelry. Anyway, I gotta actually do work now, I'll keep you updated!

Look I'm posting!!

I finished David's scarf yesterday and it's been a relief (i'll post pics tonite)! I'm hoping to start one of the sweaters tonite or tomorrow. About the sweater for me for the wedding, I found yarn!! So I'm awaiting the delivery of that yarn...it's a light yellow baby alpaca. This will be my first time using such a high quality yarn and I'm so happy that it will be for the wedding! That's if I like the way it turns out....And i may have to add some beading to it as well.

Wedding plans:
(This week)
- I will cut all of the directions inserts at work today because it needs to be done.
- I will spray a test sheet of the postcards to see if I like it sprayed or not.

(Next week)
- I will start on the photo guest book since I have to have that done relatively soon. And we're just going to litter it with engagement pics and maybe one or two others.
- I will finish all of the flower work and get it put away someplace out of the office.

I'm deciding if I want another insert about h'or d'heurves or not. The invite says that the reception starts at 6:30 but I want to emphasize that it's 6:30 SHARP. And that's when everything starts and if you're late, you're sol. So I'm trying to figure out how I want to word that and if I want since after that I will be able to assemble everything. The guest list also needs to be finalized. oy vey, the list keeps getting longer...

Progress??

Ok, so let's start with the progess chart:

1. Invite inserts - done! They just need to be cut and I'm going to spray the postcards with a gloss finish to make them look more "permanent" but other than the cutting, they're finally done. I've been playing with illustrator and photoshop a ton this week to get everything just right...but I'm happy to say they're done.
2. Invites themselves - done!! except for the monogram I need to glue all of the ribbons are tied and glued on and the pockets have been made. The monograms will be finished today or else!
3. Pots - haven't even looked at them, I better do some of those this weekend before I get ahead of myself. If I get all of this done in October I will be sitting pretty!

Up next for November:
- make earrings for the girls
- decorate champagne glasses (i have to order gold leading....)
- gather digital pictures for our photo guest book

Ok, now onto the matters of knitting and crocheting...

I love the minimalist sweater. Love, love, love it. BUT i don't think i can get it done properly in the time allowed so I'm going to switch my mom's sweater to a different crocheted version so that it will be done and be done nicely! I'm going to instead make the minimalist out of a wool (it was a cotton blend before) and make it for myself this time around in a pinky to possibly wear on wedding day. I was watching Reba last night (yes, I'm lame, leave me alone!) and they were renewing their vows and crap happened as it usually does and the girl put on the most adorable cardigan with some sparkles. I think this would be nice if i have more of an overcast day than a bright sunny one as I'm desparately hoping, and I'm hoping for more vegitation than bare trees :(

So my mom's sweater will now be the rosemary sweater out of interweave crochet. I do love to knit but I'm not confident enough to give a project to someone else! I'm fine with wearing my mistakes but no one else has to! I'm thinking I'll have to buy new yarn for this one too, I'll have to think about it. Right now I have knitpicks crayon and it should work and give more dimension to the piece but who knows, I'll figure it all out!

Ok, so that's all I have for the updates! Oh and the new e-pics turned out fabulous! It was the best decision to spend the money on this photographer!

The projects that lie ahead...

Ok first, let's talk about all the things I have to do kinda soon for the wedding:
1. 2nd round of e-pics, those happen this weekend and they're important because I want to finish the response postcards and want to see if I like a pic from the 2nd round or the 1st round better, I'm not sure which ones I will like.
2. Print, cut, and assemble invite inserts. I have them for the most part done and ready to print, but again, waiting for those 2nd e-pics...and I'm waiting for confirmation in writing about our new room rates...since they apparently changed for the better! yay!
3. Finish invites. I'm working on these at work since I have some downtime. I have to glue and tie the ribbons on them and then they'll be finished. Shouldn't take me long!
4. Finish the pots. I still have about 15-20 pots that need flowers in them. I'm hoping to finish those this week as well.

So those are all of the items I want to finish in October. Oh and not to mention losing around 5-10 pounds before January when I have my bustle done. I also have decided to make my garter and that will be a project for later, not now later.

Onto crocheting/knitting projects....

1. Sweater for mom for christmas. Knitted.
This will be a challenge as it's my first large knitted project but I absolutely love the sweater and think it would be perfect for her! It's from interweave knits and the minimilast cardigan, I'm too lazy to post pics!

2. Sweater for sister-in-law for christmas. Crocheted.
Though the directions are 3 pages long, I dont' think that it will be a big deal considering I'm a good crocheter and been doing it for a long time.

3. Scarf for fiance. Crocheted.
I've already started and am about 1/3 done. Hopefully tonite I'll make it to 1/2 way or more done. I made the pattern myself and it's a zig-zag stripe but I don't know how I'll like it when it's done. I'll just make him a new one next year if I dont' like it! HA!

4. Sweater for fiance's mom for christmas. Crocheted.
Do you see a pattern in xmas gifts? The yarn color I want isn't available until 10/22 so I have to wait to get this one started anyway, but it's crocheted so it shouldn't be a problem.

OK, so the only one I'm sorta worried about is the knitted one, but I'm confident as the pattern is not difficult at all. I'm hoping to have a sweater every 2 1/2-3 weeks done. It will take a lot of time but that's ok. I'll start bringing it to work and doing it on my lunch time so that's an hour a day, but probably more like 45 minutes.

So those are all my projects and I'm hoping to have a finished scarf either by the end of this week or the beginning of next. Wish me luck!

wedding stuff

ok, so my DIY projects have seriously consumed my life and the fact that it took me forever to find out where my knitting had gone after the move. I know, I should've kept it closer but dang nabbit it was a quick move and tiring, but I found it and I continue to work on it slowly but surely!

The invites. Here they are folks! Just one little detail that needs to be decided, yellow AND pink or just yellow ribbon. I'm leaning towards the one with the pink, but that's only because it's pink, and that's me! haha..

The decorations. Church.

Ok, I decided that I wanted flower pots, well originally pails, but those were expensive and hard to find, so i settled on pots, which luckily to ikea were really cheap and inexpensive! I got assorted flowers from walmart when they were on sale for 2 for 3 and .75 each, so i have a mountain of flowers so that they can all be the same throughout. Oh and I have a trunk full that i'm scared to bring in for fear of backlash! But here they are! I still have a bunch left to do, about 18 but those will come within the next week or so. I'm lining the aisles with the white ones in the gold pot. and then the others will be on the altar and on top I'm going to have a variety of vases that flowers will be in. The unity candle will be on a simple glass plate and i got some holders at hobby lobby for 3, so it's really been a steal! Though there is no candleabra at the place, so i'd have to rent one, but instead I'm thinking of using something like this obviously in white, I kind of like the idea. Any comments?

My crafting adventures....

Ok, first, let me say that I'm sorry that this hasn't been updated lately. I'm a bad blogger. Even worse, I'm a bad crafter at that! Since the house has taken full priority, everything else that I would normally craft at home, has definitely become non-existant. By the time i get home, i just make dinner and then relax! My plan is to start bringing crafty things to work so that I can do them on my lunch hour since I don't have much to do during that hour some days.

I think I finally finished the invites, but still working on it...I want to add either a watercolor wash or some marker type thing to it depending on how the paper weight holds up which is the hopefully going to be tested today when I get home! So we'll see if it shall be watercolor or not. I'm also thinking of adding a canary sheet to the invites to give them some more weight since the coverstock isn't holding up as well as I had hoped. I may get some 110 card stock (cover is apparently supposed to be heavier...) and see how that works itself out.

I will upload a pic once I figure out how and since CS3 was installed I've kind of been having fun with that. BUT I did finish all the necklaces and decided the earrings were no fun yet so I still have to do that....anyway, time to peace out!

Ok, sorry I've been a little mia, it's just that there's been so much to do! We have finished painting the house and are moving in on friday! i can't believe that it's already here! in the meantime, we've gotten our engagement pics back, picked out our cake and design, and the most fun part is that they installed adobe CS3 on my computer at work!! sooooooooo exciting!!!! So i'm totally making our save-the-dates there and the invites (which apparently have changed as well) I can't find anything i'm overly happy about yet, but i'm working on it and havce a new idea. my crochet and knitting has been taking a backseat to all of the other stuff that is going on, but I hope to have that worked on AND my whole weight lose adventure as that went out the window with my life being in limbo, but i'm working on it now and life can return to normal! Ok, i have to go eat my lasagna! mmmmmmmm!

Yay! we got fully approved for the mortgage, so on june 29th we'll be homeowners! wahoo! The wedding is only 10 months away and i feel like so much is still unsettled! i still have to find a cake lady, i still have to finalize centerpieces and i have to finalize flowers and just about everything else! EEP! I have a list going.....with due dates...we have our engagement pics this weekend so i'll be able to make the save-the-dates for the far out of towners and probably some of the family members since they'll want them....i'm making magnets :)....and i have to finalize the invites this summer...i've decided to do a postcard reply and am actually pretty excited about it! though i'm still debating how i will tie in the postcard back into the original design theme of the invites...ok enough wedding related babbling!

i got the knitpicks options needles! they're sooooooooo awesome! i've actually started knitting at work and everyone is really amused by it! i have decided that i do enjoy knitting and how much fun it can be. I'm going to make my first sweater for a girl who's having a little boy. I figure I'll make it a little bigger but this will give me time to finish it! Any suggestions for a pattern? anyone?

Ok, i need to go packy my apartment up some more!

I got the job at the art institute!! it makes for about a 45-1 hour commute instead of a 35-45 but i think it's going to be totally worth it!! especially when i can start on my masters after a year for free! or i could totally take some art classes! how much fun is that!? i start on monday!!

Ok, so last blog post i'm pretty sure that i made it seem like life was wonderful, and don't get me wrong, it is! The only problem is my job. I've been at this one 2 weeks and have learned nothing and no tasks have actually been assigned as mine. I don't even know what to do daily and after i finish one thing, i have to ask, now what? and to top it all off, no one knows what is going on, it's driving me flipping mad! So I've kinda decided that i'm totally not going to stay at this job, it seemed peachy but the fact is that the office is in a disaster mode and no one is letting me step up and fix it, which I could totally do if i had direction.

Good news? We finally settled everything with the sellers of the house so it's ours! YAY! They didn't fix everything, but they fixed one thing out of 2 so we're kosher with that. And i had an interview at the art institute so hopefully that will have gone well!

I know i shouldn't complain about the job, but it's even worse than dreaded nalco....it makes them look GOOD!

Yes, that means that i got a new job!! it's for a school district up north...i haven't heard back from the art institute, but this seems better since its closer to david and a small office and i like that a lot! We're going house shopping this weekend and will hopefully find something we LOVE because we need to find something relatively soon since closing generally takes 30 days or more...yuck! So we're going to look at 6 houses this weekend and they seem like really awesome prospects!! i'm really excited!!!

OK, i haven't knitted that much or done so much crafting since this past weekend was mothers day, it was hard to actually do something....ooh and my bday is coming up so i'm hoping for a knit picks options needle set :)

I have done my necklace for the wedding...here's a few pics:

The girl's dresses are halters but they're that wide halter and i'm unsure if a necklace would work or if i should just do bracelets. Also, the pink beads i was going to add into the girls. Do you think that the spacers are too gold?? i may get some metal paint and spray them a settler gold...we'll see though...any suggestions? I'm also going to bend them to fit the pearls better. And there's rhinestone rondelles in there too...i love it though...

Ok, so i was at work scoping out to see if new positions had been listed on a couple of college's websites...and i totally messed up and thought that it was a different location than the actual one it was...so i'm a big idiot and well i guess that i suck at life and won't be getting that job! HA! The interview i think went really well, but i have to hope that this is what's meant to be, because otherwise i don't know what i'm going to do!! I just wish that i would know before 3 weeks from now....i wish that i would know in about 2 weeks, i can handle 2 weeks...it's that extra one that killlls me...

the beads came in!!! i'm super excited and may do some designing tonite on some spare wire so when i get the rest of my findings, it'll be easy and no problem...and let's face it, i'm excited!!

OK! so i haven't really done as much crafty things as i would've liked, BUT i did decide to look at some beads to make my necklace for my wedding, since i have the necklace envisioned, but couldn't find it in GOLD. Which i need because my tiara is gold, the boys are wearing gold, and there's a little gold in my dress...and i've done jewelry before so it's not a total stretch...and i wanted the girls to have something similar to mine...ok so here's what i'm going to make!

but instead of the gold beads, i'm putting in more pearls! I got my beads from firemountaingems and they were actually really inexpensive for the amount and quality. I got 8mm and 6mm swarovski pearls and 2 sizes of swarovski and some swarovski crystal rondelles. I also got some gold wire. It cost me about 66 with shipping, but I got enough to make 4 necklaces and earrings. I'm going to get the earring and necklace findings locally because they only sold them in 100 packs! and i didn't need that much!

Ok, so i'm sorry that I've abandoned craft world. i really need to not abandon it...i have things that i need to get done! I guess my life has been consumed with wedding-related things. I think i can relax...i've found bridesmaid dresses and they arrived today! They are running a bit small....so I think they're going to kill me about them, but I tried one on and they're not as you-look-7-months-pregnant as i thought they would which is a GOOD thing because that would've meant i had to find a new dress! They're actually more body hugging than I thought...which means that the girls will have to go on a nice little fitness regime to get into them and look nice, but at least they have a year!

ok, craft-world.

i'm going to knit tomorrow while david does work. I need to finish my scarf and I think I can do it tomorrow, except i'm not sure i remember how to finish it off....help!!

Here's the other projects that need finishing:

1. afghan - i started this a year ago...i need to do more of this and finish by august!
2. painting - i have another pet painting to do for gina at work, i should start and finish that in 2 weeks because who knows how long i'll be at nalco
3. scarf - hopefully within the week

Ok, sorry, my craftiness has been replaced by wedding planning and trying to find a new job...between the two, i just don't have the time or energy for it or should i say heart for it!

I finally found bridesmaids dresses! though abby will have to have hers altered A LOT...shes about a size 4 and the lowest they had was a 10! but they were on sale for 54.90, so she really can't complain...and she'll just need the bust adjusted because it's not a skimming design! oooooh and i got my dress! if you want to see pics, just email me and i'll send them your way....

So here's my idea for the invites, which i'm pretty sure i'm following through on...I've been drawing (i guess that counts as crafty)...and i want to put a simple grouping of tulips on the invites and have a very bold writing to contrast with the softness of the drawing...so i've almost narrowed that one down...it's very close to being finished

i found some jewelry that I may buy the bridesmaids, it's a 7 strands of pearls that are spaced out, I think i may get them since i love them soooo much...my only problem now becomes that i have gold in my wedding colors: raspberry and light gold. so i bought a tiara with gold but it's getting hard to find a necklace with gold instead of silver...booo...

i'm tired of my job and want to be done...i'm past the just applying to colleges deal and now i'm applying to everything and anything that i can...so hopefully i can get something soon so i can get my life in order. and then i can pack up and we can find a house and all of that stuff...we're not exactly sure what's going to happen, but we need to know by mid may i think...at least late may....what a birthday present that would be!

anywho, hope all is well with everyone out there and i hope to finally find a job and hope that you're well! and this weather is weirding me out...and i had to go to work on a SUNDAY at 8 am : ( i'm sad but may not have to go tomorrow due to maybe going in tomorrow night...we'll find out this evening...ok, i'm seriously off!

ok, so this may not totally be craft related, but very well could be in the end...we'll call it slightly wedding related...

first, i think i changed my colors. they were raspberry and champagne (aka light gold for the boys), but i have this beautiful set of candle holders that i brought back from morocco and i absolutely looooooooooove them, so i have to incorporate a light blue (oceanish), dark blue, and deep yellow into the wedding somehow....not totally overwhelming inclusion, but some inclusion....and it does have a raspberry in it too! So it actually works pretty well...

which brings me to the bridesmaid dresses...i just can't find anything that i particularly like that doesn't cost $300 (thanks jcrew...) and i've thought about having them made and buying the fabric and supplying it to the dressmaker. I contacted one yesterday, she got back to me and said that she charges 300-600!! I couldn't believe that...and her work totally was not the best....anyway, i want a dress the girls can wear bras with, so something with straps otherwise you get them pulling up the strapless or have the 3rd and 4th boob problem, even if the girls are 20lbs...not my style! anyway, i searched a bunch of patterns last night and fabrics. I found an easy vogue pattern and some silk taffeta for about $7 /yd. BUT, i'm only kinda insane in thinking i can do this myself...it's a simple a-line, double v dress (see ann taylor celebrations, christine style...i suck at inserting pics...).

The only thing with the new color palette is i'm thinking of having the girls wear a different color ribbon of it...or maybe just put some in the flowers and their jewelry, which may be super cool...but i still can't find a dress color i like, in the style i want! so that's frustrating!

BUT this may have solved my invitation dilemna...i was thinking about stealing little jessica's idea...and admittedly stealing it and not saying that it was my own idea....instead i could do a nice graphic design from the pattern on the candle holders and such on the top of the invite. We could get them copied at kinko's and use some markers to color in...but i still have to play with the designs and decide what i want to do...

and flowers...i think i want tulips...but maybe the flowers will be different now that i have new colors to use...i was thinking of going for a shades of pink, but now i could do a pink, yellow twist with a light blue bow on it....now just for the deep blue...we'll have to see, who knows, i may go to hobby lobby and wonder around looking at the different type of flowers so that i can be educated when i go meet with my florist!

ok, enough of my wedding-ness onto craft time....oh and i may totally try a trial of the dress i want the girls to wear so that i can see how insane i truly am and will give up the thought! that's the only way it will work!! but i have to do one more painting for the girl at work of her parents dog swimming...and i'm totally going to get into watercolor since i love spring! AND i'm totally running everyday! take that!

that you kinda suck at life??

i mean, i went for a position that i'm really perfect for and would be great at, but because i didnt have the right experience, i didn't get it. and oh, now starting in july, i will have to commute 45 min for a job that i don't like and don't see myself at and feel like i'm wasting my potential. and it's not that i feel entitled to something awesome, its just i want something more...and i can't have that and i feel like i will not have anything wonderful handed to me.

yes, i have a great fiance and i live well for my life but i need something more...i want to not do this anymore, and it's hard...why can't i ever have the right things...why cant i find what i need? it's too crappy to do...and what sucks is that i can't ever have what i want or what would be perfect...i need to just stop and let go, this wasn't right, but it seemed like it was....i just want something to work...and i can't find it...can it just find me? at least just this once?

and don't tell me that it makes me stronger. that's what people say to make them feel better, i don't need to be any stronger, i just want something a little easy...and this is not fun AT ALL...ok, that's my vent...feel free to say, i feel you because you probably do!

ok, i have a few minutes before i have to leave for work and i'm well...bored...so here's a short post! I'm still awaiting a phone call about the job i applied to :-/ I just want to know something definite about next year...well actually this all has to be settled by July! And i have no idea what's going to happen...i'm starting to knit more, i did yesterday and will probably today too! yay!

on a craft note: i'm thinking about doing small watercolor flowers on the invitations to the wedding, i know, i'm crazy but that's what i want. and to do it on actual watercolor paper would be ridicuously expensive. So can anyone point me in cheap watercolor paper direction? OR should i just do it on a linen paper? I can get 100 sheets of that for like $10 at envelopemall.com (where i'll be getting the envelopes from!) What do you think? (i think this may be directed to jessica...lol)

Ok, I've taken upon myself to divulge an intro to my opinions on the pre-presidential race also known as the primaries and caucuses...i've continued on my scarf and not because i'm lazy, but i should be done eventually....anywho, here goes!

Barack Obama - i think i could vote for him, the only problem is that he's young and inexperienced. Hes only been in the senate for 2 years and now he thinks he knows how the system works to run the country?? but then again, did georgie? no. I think he's very likeable but can also insert his foot into his mouth (see "wasted lives") but he also has the human quality and can write it off as admitting his mistakes out right...but i'm not sure if he has the balls to run this country especially at this time since we're stuck in someone else's civil war. We need someone to be forward and take control and blame if it all goes bad. I think his enterance into this is premature...you really can't recouperate from a bad run at this...but then again maybe that's what he wants to get us all off his back to become president but that's not really what he wants and he knows this is the wrong time!

Hilary Clinton - ok, so hear me out. She's smart, she can be aggressive, and she's married to Bill. She's a winner in my book, but there's something about her that make women hate her, she's very self-assured and independent. She's got the last name thing going, and we loved the Clinton years, it would be fabulous. I honestly believe that she would make a better president at this time than Barack, just because of her experience of already being that close and being in Congress for longer. She gets it.

They both are very promising but can make some big mistakes until the election. I don't think that people really like Hilary even though she stands her ground, she speaks her mind, and she's confident in what she's saying. Which is everything that Barack is. Though Barack seems more grounded and likeable. This could really go either way. I'm hoping and wishing and praying that the democratic party does not screw this one up...though it may be that way anyway and still win, it's a toss up and i'd say too early to tell. So say what you will but i'd vote for either one!

and pictures!!! ok, so the left shot is a tiny bit blurry...but it's my only imperfection that i can find...somehow i didn't do something right and well...it doesn't look awesome as it should...

below is a closer image of my lovely knitting...i don't have the best camera...but the fiance does and i figure i basically own all of that...just not quite yet...

and here is a picture of it all stretched out! i am going to have to flatten it...but you get the idea...i'm going to start an orange stripe next and then i don't know what color...but a big blue one will be soon!

and you can see how curled it is...i'm using knit picks palette yarn fyi...and i do love it...i think i like thinner yarn rather than thicker...i used to be a thick yarn girl and now i like the thinner...but then again...i just love yarn...

and look it's my engagement ring to the left!

Ok, so above is the doggy sweater that i made the pattern for myself...i still have to finish up the top and also the arm holes...but again...when do i actually finish anything!?

and there's my annual weekend packing for winter...having a fiance that coaches is stressful...luckily he'll come visit me a lot in the future and i will barely have to travel!!

i've made significant progress on my knitted scarf. I had all day on saturday to get down to business and switched colors several times! it's probably only 1/4 done just because i want a loooooooong scarf. It's so skinny that it needs to be long....i don't know how much time i'll actually have this weekend, but we'll see....

my ipod came last night!!! which makes me a happy puppy! although all my music i uploaded to ms. computer was through windows media player...and guess what? i tunes doesn't recognize it....so i've tried to re-upload but it's not being a happy time and now i have duplicates....so i may just clear off all my music from my computer and start over tonite and just put it all back on...grrr...but i may wait till this weekend....hey anyone know if i can upload music w/o internet?? this ip isn't on my parents connection so i won't be able to get my computer to work...but i may want to get all the music off of my old one...i uploaded alot from cd's in college :) i promise there was no illegal downloading in college....i just had everything named and shit. aaaaaaaaaaah....so i'll think about that today....and maybe i'll knit while itunes converts my music tonite....

i'm still knitting, and haven't finished any of my crochet projects. but that's not really a new thing...i switched colors knitting! and i did it pretty seamlessly! i'm so proud! it took me a long time to try that with crocheting and i did it instantly with knitting...though i do prefer the crochet since it's a little less stressful about not having to lose a stitch or anything!

i decided to blog this morning since i was up at 5:30 to work out...i'm in this thing at work where i have to lose 5% of my body fat by May 4. I promised myself that i wouldn't eat desserts until i lost 10 pounds! i lost about 4.5 last week and worked out 6 days :-/ it was a long week and i have to keep doing this for at least 2 months....then i can start to weaning off of it...i figure this is a jumpstart for my wedding...i wanted to lose like 30 pounds by the wedding...and i wanted to lose 20 pounds by may 4...so i should be ok by doing this early and slowly....i'll keep everyone updated on the knitting and working out

ok, so no pics because i'm lazy and forgot to take some but i thought that i should blog first!!

i finished a project!! the football cozy thingy for my fiance! it's at his apt so i don't have pictures of it,...maybe next time i go i'll update it! i'm also making some scrubbers out of nylon netting for his mom...they're in a circular pattern and i'm kind of making it up as i go along!

i also finished another project! i made 2 doggy sweaters for my brother and sister-in-law's little dog and one was WAY too big! so i took it apart and made a new one from an adapted pattern....so i finished that too!!

i'm still working on some of the other stuff that's unfinished...the gray little sweater just needs some love and attention to adapt to my upper body....and the raspberry one also needs some work...but that wouldn't take long....

but...

i learned how to knit!! my friend taught me how and apparently i caught on quickly! i'm making a scarf out of knit picks palette because she told me i have to make a scarf first...and i'm doing the knit stitch and the pearl stitch...so after this i'll be able to do mucho more...i'm only learning because i want to make sweaters and there's more fun patterns in knitting than crocheting...but i'll keep up both!

well, the fiance is needing my attention so i'll leave this post be...hopefully i'll blog more...my scarf is going to have stripes too! i'm going to be adventurous!

hey, update to the new version of blogger so that i can actually see who comments on my stuff (cough, cough, jessica)

i havent done much...i'm about 20 or 30 rows short on my scarf for david and i bought filling for the football...and that's about it! maybe i'll try and get it done for xmas, lots of stuff...and i've made absolutely no progress on my afghan...

or any of the other products that i had thought that i would do!! yuck! i have more on my mind...such as planning the wedding...which, vegas looks real good sometimes....

i'm finishing up another painting for the same girl at work...she wanted one for her aunt of the cats...so i'm working on that slowly but surely...

and i have to deal with christmas bs right now so i'm trying to not yell about that...i'm not sure if i actually enjoy christmas or not yet....and i need to stop worrying about what will happen next year...

so hopefully i'll work on things...i'm going to go play with paint now...

This really hasn't been a great month for anyone....quick post....not much to say on the crochet front...i think i should learn to knit....there's so many cooler sweaters to make...but crocheting has it's advantages...such as if you mess up...you can't always tell that easily...and it's easier to improvise i think because everything not as tied together as knitting....maybe little jessica will teach me to knit!

hopefully i'll crochet soon again...i had insomnia sunday and monday and couldn't sleep to save my life...and i totally went to sleep at 3 am...i think i'm tired tonite though....but this could all be because my grandma died on monday :( so i'm heading home tomorrow for everything...i know your sorry, but it's part of life i think and i'm glad she didn't suffer. I feel sorry for my mommy though because she has a lot to go through now and it's just the beginning before crap....

and i was totally sick last week and it sucked...

i haven't had a good november...i'm missing my AMUN conference too where i was supposed to be on staff but couldn't because of work and this...so that's poopy...and little jessica is having a rough time with crap too...

so pray for us all if you're a praying kind of person...and if you read this....

just posting...why? because i'm a lazy girl!! and i haven't mastered typing on my laptop just yet...yes, it's like 3 months old, i just don't type on it all that much...i do my work at work and that's a regular old desktop....so i don't have to worry about it..but i must say that i do heart my laptop and am super happy with it...it's tiny but a widescreen at the same time. just perfect...even cuter part about it is that my bf has a bigger version....and if you know my bf, it's really funny...it's totally like goldie locks and the 3 bears...each is just right for each of us! haha...ok, enough about that!

i almost finished the football coaster thingy! i just have to do some finishing touches and i sew a few things together, but other than that it's done! i really did it in about a week, i have yet to take a picture of it because i'm lazy again...

and i started a new project and thought about some others...

the new project is a scarf for my bf...i'm making it the colors of the school he's at now (seems to be a theme....i made one for him last year too!) this one is black and gold inspired by harry potter stripes...so it should be pretty fun...i may even throw in some other interesting details...the pattern so far is 2 rows of singles, 2 rows of doubles. 8 rows of each color...but i think i may do some behind the post on the yellow ones....and i probably will to give it some extra flava!

i'm a dork, lay off!

i got the yarn at michael's today...it was on sale, that's what inspired it...they also had some other wool yarn on sale and i passed it up because well...i had no direct idea what i was going to do with it so i thought it would be best if i didn't...but i bought a TINY hook...a C...that's 2.75mm which is tiny in crochet land...well not the tiniest but pretty tiny...i'm going to make a cardigan out of the palette from knit picks...and i'm going to make it up as i go...wish me luck! i also bought 6, yes SIX, canvases...i decided i was in a painting mood...lol...and i'm going to paint the dog that i promised the girl at work...and i'm going to make some for christmas gifts....and they were half price....so i loaded up!

was that a good enough blog?? oh and i was a giant germ bucket all week long...sick as sick could be on wednesday, even called in sick to work! and then i also left halfway through thursday...so i have a pretty good excuse....

hopefully i'll get onto this soon!

i don't really have a title for this post...i promised pictures on saturday and lied...so at least it's here on tuesday...above is the football caddy that i promised to my boyfriend before the end of football season...i'm learning the picture thing, so bear with me...

Below is the colors of knit picks palette that i have....i'm not quite sure what i'm going to do with it, but i have it and it's really soft and just lovely...

Here is one of the few squares i have done for that one shrug from crochetme.com....
Here is my first kinda finished shrug! I have to sew the seams (i did one yesterday) and then finish the edges and i'm done! though i think it may be a gift to someone with not such big knockers!
here is that afghan that i haven't touched for a month or so....these actually have the edging done and then i'm going to connect them with a royal purple/blue...it's actually quite pretty!

i have to finish sewing some stuff tonite...i decided to make my halloween costume! I'm having a pirate party and so i made a black corset (which still needs some more fitting) and then a skirt from some stripey fabric and muslim...here's a picture of what the skirt is made out of....i guess i was inspired by project runway...(ok...so this one is on the other side...i'm learning here!!)

so are you overloaded with pictures?? hopefully i'll have some more soon now that i can and not as lazy...cold weather always inspires me to crochet, so inshallah, i'll be getting some more done on stuff!

i'm going to go sew now! i have to finish it by thursday since i'm working that night and going to see my mom and dad on friday night and party is on saturday! whew!

I'm sorry for whoever reads this...i haven't blogged forever...

and part of that reason is that i haven't crocheted for awhile, i just haven't gotten the nerve to start again but i was thinking yesterday that i really need to start, so now i'm going to start and crochet more. I think the cold is actually getting me in the mood for it! And I also have to get some smaller hooks since i need it. But i promise i'll blog more tomorrow and add in some pictures finally!! The boy doesn't come until later that night so i'll have some time to blog...

but in other news, i went shopping tonite and bought stuff for work...i got 3 pairs of pants, 2 skirts, a couple shirts and a really nice pair of black BCBG shoes (just the shoes at nordstrom rack)...it was very nice...but its all good...and i promise a nice big blog tomorrow!

so here i go blogging again about my crochet habits and other crafty type of things. so i made this pattern that i found online and it was for a shrug using a M hook, which is large for me but it was kind of fun because the lines went pretty fast! so i made the back and sides and only have the sleeves and finishing left to do.....

the problem...i think it's too small and i'm just too lazy to even take it all apart or start all over! so it just may be a gift for my brother's fiance and i'll just ask if she wants it or not and she doesn't have to take it if she won't wear it! i could always give it to little jessica too if she didn't want it, but i figure i should pawn it off on whoever can!

i'm going to make the sleeves a size larger because they're really small right now, and that's no good at all :-/

i've been on and off on my other projects, as you see that there's a lot of projects that i have and theres a bunch of different yarn that i still have to figure out what to do....and i think i just totally got called a dork for having a blog about my crochet!

anywho, a girl at work wants me to draw and/or paint her puppy...he's a terrier and really adorable! i have a few pictures, and i have to decide what medium to use...i was thinking about pastels on velour because i really love pastels...but then i was thinking cray-pas too? watercolor? acrylic? what do you think?? leave me a message letting me know what you think!

a long over due update!

so here's the deal! I've been lazy and haven't made too much progress on my projects...I just haven't been motivated to read the pattern, i loved when all i made was simple scarves and i made up my own rules, well, i wanted to do more so then i had to follow patterns to get the idea of what i wanted to do...so i guess i have to make a few things before i actually get the hang of it all...but it's just sucking in the meantime! and the million granny squares i have to make are on hold because i can't find my hook! oh no!

it's somewhere in my apt but that could be anywhere right now. and i forgot to grab my thingy to put pictures from my camera to my computer...so you should expect pictures in about a month when i finally go home to pick it up! so eventually i will have pictures but unless i do other things in the meantime, i probably won't have any other way until then.

in other news, i'm tired...and probably going to lay and watch the tv.

seriously, i was watching vh1 and he was changing...i think he sun tans nude because his butt was not white!! ok...enough about not crochet related items!

i've been barred from buying new yarn, though i was oh so tempted today but only bought yarn that was necessary to finish projects (new ones that i've started in the mean time...) so let's list what i want and what i need to finish or start...i'm not sure if that sentence made sense...

1. afghan, i'm on an hiatus, i'm down to like 14 balls left to crochet...about 10 of each color so i'm having fun times...well not really...but i'm working on that!!

2. the black shrug that i never finished from the happy hooker of my friends...and i need to either buy the book or need to try and get my friend to send me the pattern :)

3. a shrug from AC Moore that i found online, it's really easy and i'm making good progress on it! I may actually finish something!

4. the shrug from crochetme.com that is taking forever to do since it's made of granny squares...boo at the granny squares right now!

5. the football coaster thingy for my boyfriend...it's awesome...i got it from the 1980s crochet today that my grandma gave me! i have the yarn i just needed the right needles (which i bought today...more explaination later...)

6. another shrug from online...really simple but i needed a bigger needle...

so i think that 6 projects is way too many for me and i really need to finish a few of these, hopefully i'll finish the afghan by the time that it gets cold so that i can use it!! Oh, so about my new needles...i went to the hobby lobby and got a bunch of new needles, i wanted them in aluminum but i only got 2 small ones instead in that...now i wanted large needles too...like size P!! so i broke down and got acrylic ones that are glittery (somewhat by choice!) so i have all the needles i need!! i was going to just buy a set, but i already have a couple and didn't want repeats..so it's all good now and i'm happy and can get down to business...i used to way back in the day have all the needles but somehow they got lost!!

and it's a beautiful day out! Also i'm using crochet as a distraction...i started this cleanse where i only eat fruits and veggies and these shakes and vitamin things so i get all the stuff my body needs! don't worry i do have dr. supervision! So don't worry but i'm kinda crabby because i don't get my chocolate! but i'm gonna go eat what i call "supper"

Ok, so here's the deal...sorry about the lack of update but it happens right? but i'm updating now so you should be happy!! (and by you, i mean sugarsticks because no one really reads this...) anywho...

i've been trying to crochet my little heart out but find the tv more entertaining, maybe i should turn it off, but maybe i'll do some tonite because there's really nothing too entertaining on! I should have ran today but eh, it happens...

i did crochet at lunch and got out about 1 1/2 squares in like 20 minutes so i think that was good. I started this bolero last night but i don't think i like it, i need a larger hook to make it better i think, maybe i should alter the pattern or something because it's just too tight, and no i'm not a big kid and using the right yarn! who uses the right yarn? honestly? come on, i know you dont 24/7, so lay off!

but i don't know if i'm too bored or uninterested or just tired by the time i get home to crochet or not! i should really get on all the stuff that i've started! soon i'm going to get the book that i'm missing to finish a couple of things and maybe i'll get a different one instead, i dont know yet! who knows really? i want to finish stuff but want the results NOW, not in like 4 hours...i really must not have the patience!! lol...maybe i should work on that? but anyway, i'm going to search for randomness on the internet!

hopping on the bandwagon feels good

so i'm updating again, you should be proud! i bought no new yarn so it was a good weekend, i really need to get going on projects...i've worked a bit on the afghan project and started the shrug one...well one shrug, still have a few more to go!

i worked on more granny squares and it feels like this afghan may be the death of me...i started writing this a few days ago, but then my mom came and i got distracted for the past few days...but i did get some more squares made...i should really stop slacking, but i get bored so i feel like i have to have 80 different projects going on at the same time.

i found another project from crochetme.com and am going to attempt it! hopefully i'll be successful and hopefully i'll put up some pictures in the near future when i stop being lazy...but i should really get back to the crocheting and watching tv...and i should probably go run today, but i'm really tired...so i'm going to not and just do some pilates here tonite...any who, back to the needle (wow i sound like a druggie!! actually it's a hook :)

so i broke down and started my own crocheting/crafting blog...sometimes i'm more motivated than others to actually produce items..but because my friend started her knitting blog i just cant get enough and her being lazy...doesn't post every 10 minutes to keep up with my ADD. And though i have a myspace, i don't think they want to hear about all my crazy crocheting things....i am the crochetinator...the name was a randomness of life and i couldn't think of anything else...do you mind?

ok for the crochet talk!!

i have many a projects to do....and finish...i just haven't found the time to do them really. Like this afghan that i've been making since MAY...i am probably about 40% done with the granny squares but still have to do the edging on them all, i just got the yarn last week from knit picks. it's going to be like 6 different colors, 5 in squares and 1darker on all of them...i'm using the wool of the andes and making a pretty large one...so i should really start going on that again...

my grandma gave me a bunch of old yarn too and some really cool 80s crochet magazines and i want to make this cool football thing for david and then a monkey too :) and there's some other randomness that needs to go down....but for david's i have to finish before the end of football season because i didn't finish his scarf until...april...and it's not cold in april anymore! so i need to get going on that but somehow i am missing all but 2 of my crochet hooks, so i have to go get more :( but they're not expensive so it's all good!

and then i have to finish a bunch of shrugs, i have at least 3 that i have to make and want to do this other one that i found online that's really cool made out of these random granny squares so it's a lot of fun! but i have to keep on this or i won't do it..

oh and i have a real job that takes me away from crocheting, though i do enjoy doing it on my lunch breaks! and then i look like i'm 80! but hey, i enjoy it! luckily my second job allows me time to do things like crocheting all the time...and my brother is getting married at the end of september so i have to focus on looking great for the wedding...so that's my first blog, i hope you enjoy the randomness and hopefully i'll update more and more and eventually put pictures up!
